Sweaters

Who loves sweaters?

I used to not love them. To be honest, I'd be happy if it were always summer, and I would wear bright colored t-shirts, full wide skirts that dance, and pink flip flops.

Sadly, I live in Montana right now.

And I hate being cold.

That just means I've had to find a new love... sweaters!

My family says most of my sweaters are ugly. But they are my style... so warm, so soft, and just my colors :D

This sweater was given to me by one of my best friends when I first became a Ruby Girl three or so years ago. I wear it so much ;p

I bought this while shopping with friends back when I was a Ruby girl several years ago.

I recently found this lovely sweater at a thrift store. It made me think of Super Girl...  So nerdy and feminine all at once. AndI loved the pink and grey.. so of course I bought it!

Makes for artsy photos.

This sweater is one of my favorites, but I never wear it in public as my family says it's horrible. II bought it at a thrift store years ago. t's 100% wool, so warm and comfy! It's way too big, but I love it :D

Do you like sweaters? Would you wear any of these?

Lotsa Shades of Brown

Sometimes I like brown. And other times I absolutely love it.

Which may surprise those of you that know how much I love color.

But there is something about brown that is just nice... unique in that it isn't white or black or grey. Still classy, pretty, and fun.

And deep and rich - almost like the back bone of color :D

I'm pretty sure everything I'm wearing was thrifted except for my necklace which I made. ;p

What sort of neutral colors do you all like to wear? Do you use this color of yours as a complimentary, or wear it often on its own?

Pink and A Pony, Too

It's that time of the year again: winter. (Meaning boots, long sleeves, and sweaters.)

Normally Montana winters are so very cold and miserable. Like very so. But this year has been rather warm.

Which I don't mind ;)

I can still wear my boots... with out having too much other excess bulk, lol :D

Anyways, here are pictures of a fun outfit I wore to church this last week.

The wind worked to our advantage today, turning those pages just right;b

Just because you are "reading" doesn't mean you can't smile ;D

I'm afraid we like to get more funny photo's than "fashionable" ones ;)

And, I thought it would be fun to share a a picture of all of my sisters, ready for church :)

Outfit:

Pink Shirt: thrift
Tank top: Walmart
Lace Shirt: thrift
Skirt: Thrift
Boots: Plato's Closet
Necklace: My dear friend, Esther - It's my pony (inside joke ;b)

Yesterday I started reading The Giver by Lois Lowry (finally). I have been wanting to  read it ever since watching the movie a few months back... and falling in love with the closing song, Ordinary Human by OneRepublic.

I haven't finished the book... but it is soooo good!!!

The whole premise is just so intriguing: this world where every thing is the perfect. Health. No death. Every one is happy, content. Nothing bad happens.

But the main character is chosen for a special job... one that will make him see what they don't have.

Color. Joy. Uniqueness.

(We really have taken color for granted. Read this book, and you'll see what I mean.)

But the biggest thing that hit me was the freedom of choice.

Sure, choice results in a lot of evil, disaster, awful PAIN, and more... but God still created us with the ability to choose.

Because, even though we have to endure all those evil things... we also get the satisfaction of joy and color.

And, for some reason, I'm really thank full that God allows me to choose.

And, I didn't mean to tag a book review to this post... except I thought the message just too strong to not share ;) And you never know... maybe it was good I did just that.

What has your week been like? Have you read anything that impacted your life? And what are your thoughts on color? Of, course... we all have to agree that pink is awesome ;b

Farm Meets Fashion

Every now and then I have to feature my photographer. Especially since it was her dress I used in my last post.

She is a bit more tom-boyish than me, but lately she has been getting into being more "girly" lol. All's good in it's own timing ;)

Anyways, the crazy farm life makes a great background for her gorgeous dress ;)

Are we done yet? I see a chicken that needs it's head removed. (She did NOT say this lol)

I like this one :)

Chickens be like: What are you doing?

The sun is a bit bright today :)

Outfit: I'm pretty sure all of it was thrifted - she may have got the necklace at a small antique store ;)

And a verse, for your enjoyment :)

(John 14:27) Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.

Have a great day!!! For life is pretty good, after all ;)

Fashion Post: Simple Yet Gorgeous Church Outfit

Ok... I am soooo sorry that I haven't posted in FOREVER.

I guess my excuse could be I was busy... lol, but aren't we all always? Haha.

But the last couple weeks have been pretty exciting!!! I have my driver's license now (finally), got a new phone which will help make better pics for the blog, and I was baptized!!!!

Yes, these last coupld weeks have been VERY eventful ;)

Well, now that my excuse is over... I present to you a fun fashion post ;)

My siblings raise all sorts of birds(mostly chickens).

More of a really neat angle than fashion pic, but it is still pretty neat ;)

Sorry for the seemingly unenthusiastic smiles... it was sunny out ;)

Outfit:

Dress: Borrowed from sister. She got it from a thrift store.
Shirt: Thrift I think
Shoes: Yard sale. (These shoes are Earth Spirit and soooo comfortable!!!)
Necklace: Gift

Wow...this outfit was totally cheap (mostly free)! Yet.. so gorgeous. It just proves you don't need name brands or expensive price tags to dress up - where did those thoughts and mindsets originate from anyways???

As, for my hair, I did a small fish tale braid down the back and a couple small braids at the sides of my head. Fun, easy, quick, and textured :)

Have a great weekend ya'all!!!!!

And a picture of my baptism.. just too great to not share. I'll be doing a full blog post on this over at my blog this next Wednesday.

I really like this one :)

Wow...this is so true...how much do you say with the way you dress?

What are you WANTING to tell the world?

I hope you are all having a wonderful weekend!!! What was the best thing that happened last week to you?
