Pink and A Pony, Too

It's that time of the year again: winter. (Meaning boots, long sleeves, and sweaters.)

Normally Montana winters are so very cold and miserable. Like very so. But this year has been rather warm.

Which I don't mind ;)

I can still wear my boots... with out having too much other excess bulk, lol :D

Anyways, here are pictures of a fun outfit I wore to church this last week.

The wind worked to our advantage today, turning those pages just right;b

Just because you are "reading" doesn't mean you can't smile ;D

I'm afraid we like to get more funny photo's than "fashionable" ones ;)

And, I thought it would be fun to share a a picture of all of my sisters, ready for church :)

Outfit:

Pink Shirt: thrift
Tank top: Walmart
Lace Shirt: thrift
Skirt: Thrift
Boots: Plato's Closet
Necklace: My dear friend, Esther - It's my pony (inside joke ;b)

Yesterday I started reading The Giver by Lois Lowry (finally). I have been wanting to  read it ever since watching the movie a few months back... and falling in love with the closing song, Ordinary Human by OneRepublic.

I haven't finished the book... but it is soooo good!!!

The whole premise is just so intriguing: this world where every thing is the perfect. Health. No death. Every one is happy, content. Nothing bad happens.

But the main character is chosen for a special job... one that will make him see what they don't have.

Color. Joy. Uniqueness.

(We really have taken color for granted. Read this book, and you'll see what I mean.)

But the biggest thing that hit me was the freedom of choice.

Sure, choice results in a lot of evil, disaster, awful PAIN, and more... but God still created us with the ability to choose.

Because, even though we have to endure all those evil things... we also get the satisfaction of joy and color.

And, for some reason, I'm really thank full that God allows me to choose.

And, I didn't mean to tag a book review to this post... except I thought the message just too strong to not share ;) And you never know... maybe it was good I did just that.

What has your week been like? Have you read anything that impacted your life? And what are your thoughts on color? Of, course... we all have to agree that pink is awesome ;b

Winter Charm ;)

Good morning from Tennessee!!!

I recently did a photo shoot with a friend. Even though it is the middle of the winter, the weather felt just right.

Not too cold at all ;)

I've been away from home for a few weeks, on a trip. It's an adventure!!! But I'm doing volunteer office work-so it's busy, too!!!! (I'm working for Above Rubies)

Shirt: borrowed
Tanktop: hand-me down
Skirt: borrowed
Boots: borrowed
Necklace: thrift

(1 Peter 4:3-6)For we have spent enough of our past lifetime in doing the will of the Gentiles—when we walked in lewdness, lusts, drunkenness, revelries, drinking parties, and abominable idolatries. In regard to these, they think it strange that you do not run with them in the same flood of dissipation, speaking evil of you.  They will give an account to Him who is ready to judge the living and the dead.  For this reason the gospel was preached also to those who are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

How have your last couple of weeks been? Any comments related to this outfit....or ideas for future outfits? Have a great day, ya'll, and stay warm....it's starting to get really cold here! :)

Dressing For Church ( Quick, yet Nice )

First of all I love editing photos too much :) :) ;).

Here's a fun outfit I wore to church last week. The weather is getting warmer so long sleeves and boots are necessary now. I must say I love boots...but I love flip flops more :D

My new facebook profile picture :b

1. Practical

I have to work before church, so my mornings are hectic with little time even to get ready for church.

But it's church, and the occasion calls for dressing up....and not for housecleaning ;).

So, it's practical in that it's a time efficient outfit, yet looks nice enough for church. :)

2. Pretty

Of course this outfit is pretty according to my tastes ;).

But what adds that prettiness for me is the pink skirt, the lace on the shirt, the necklace, my braid in my hair, and the ssparkly boots. :)

3. Comfortable

And it was a very comfortable outfit! I did not have to feel like I was being suffocated, not conscience about how it all wore.

I must say I loved this outfit very much!!!!!

Outfit;

Button up shirt: Thrifted
T-shirt: Thrifted
Skirt: Made
Boots: I can't remember the name of the store...some small store in the mall :)
Necklace: gift

A Pink Gown {ClassyGarb}

DSCN0396
The back of the dress
(Sorry I'm posting this Monday morning rather than Sunday!)

I love to sew. I think some of the classiest dresses I've ever seen were handmade! :-D I do have a sewing machine, so it was not *handsewn*, but this was completely done by me. :-) It was made with 3 modified patterns to become one pattern! I also added a detachable belt, but that doesn't show up in these pictures. :-)

Unfortunately, I forgot to time it, so I have no idea how long it actually took me to sew this! :-P

I just adore the button!

It's so swishy!

So, there's my dress! I love it so much, and feel incredibly classy in it. :D Now I just need some pearls and gloves to finish the look!
