Infinity Scarf {Product Review}

Hey, ya'll!

Sorry for not posting consistently the past several weeks. Life has been crazy to say the least, but after this weekend I'll be back to my weekly Thursday posts. Prayers would be much appreciated though because I've been very busy will college classes, SAT's, and work.

Okay now for the fun part.
I was sent a beautiful infinity scarf from Sheri Kate Designs on etsy. First off scarves are my addiction, so this was such a perfect review for me to get to do. Also, this has been perfect for scarf weather. They're warm, they're functional, and they're cute. Having cute scarves is definitely a must and this scarf qualifies as super cute.

The packaging was so pretty, not to mention professional, and Stephanie included a very sweet note.

At first I was a bit confused on how to wear it with the two different colors, but after lining up the two seams I figured it out. This is why you shouldn't hand a blond an infinity scarf...we confuse ourselves...way too much. In the end I loved having the two different colors because you can wear it several different ways.

The chevron print is gorgeous as are the colors, and the texture of the material is so soft. It's light enough to wear in the spring and summer and heavy enough for fall and winter. The quality is also amazing. The seams are hidden and finished well, which is definitely something to look for in a scarf.

Overall?
I completely recommend the scarf and Sheri Kate's Designs. My mom and sisters also fell in love with the scarf so we've added the shop to our list of places to shop for Christmas and birthdays. Head over and check the shop out for yourself here! Not only do they have super cute scarves in a ton of colors, but they've also got some adorable maxi skirts. To top it all off the prices are extremely reasonable, especially for the quality of product you get.

Dual Review & Another Giveaway! (TWO WINNERS!)

Hola chicas!
Today I have something a little different for you.
First, a dual review including products from Dazzling Adornments and Capurro Customs.
And later, we'll be having another giveaway, and this time not only one but two winners will be chosen! Stay tuned!

So, I was sent a cool array of handcrafted no-piercing jewelry from Dazzling Adornments. All the pieces are pictured above in the photo collage.

They are:
And, my favorite of them all, the leaf-chain ear cuff, which I can't seem to find a link to on Etsy, sadly.

All of these pieces are no-pierce and easily fastened as they can be bent slightly to be adjusted to your own liking. My favorite thing about this kind of jewelry is that it does NOT require piercings!

Now, I've been an ear cuff wearer for a little while now, and I love how unique ear cuffs are as compared to 'regular' earrings. I've had kids compliment me on how "that looks really cool!" And my friends tell me they think that ear cuffs look Tolkien-esque, or at least reminiscent of the Elvish societies. Which is definitely a positive! But other peoples' reactions aside, I just like ear cuffs period.

The leaf-chain cuff pictured above is one of my favorite cuffs now. And speaking of Elvish-ness, it certainly looks like something straight out of Rivendell or Lothlorien to me! I love the silver color and subtle-ness of the chain and delicate leaf charm. A very sophisticated cuff for sure!

All the other cuffs are made with a pliable yet substantial silver or copper wire. They are very lightweight. You can easily forget you're even wearing them.

I am sorry to say that I don't wear lip or nose cuffs so therefore I can't say much on their wear-a-bility. Honestly, I just wouldn't like something metal on my lip or nose. That's just me. I have nothing against it theologically or anything like that, because for one thing we see in the Old Testament where Isaac gave Rebecca a gold nose ring, among other examples. To me it's just a matter of personal preference to only wear ear jewelry as far as this is concerned.

But! For anybody out there who does wear lip or nose cuffs, it's your 'lucky' day...and you'll see why!

Overall, I have enjoyed wearing the leaf-chain cuff very much, and concerning the other cuffs, I would wear them in a heartbeat as well (with the exception of the nose and lip cuffs) if it weren't for the fact that one of you fabulous people will be...oh, I'm getting ahead of myself. Just keep reading!

Bottom line? Dazzling Adornments gets my seal of approval!

Next we have two elegant items from Capurro Customs! I was sent a custom black and cream skirt and Black lace infinity scarf.

The skirt is pictured above. I absolutely LOVE the fabric! It's actually very similar to that of my bedroom curtains...maybe that's why I was initially drawn to it, haha. (I love my curtains.) It's quaint, old-timey and feminine. I love the black white contrast, with the old-fashioned designs on the fabric.  So cute!

Sadly, this skirt was too short on me. The hem fell a bit above my knees, and the shortest skirt I will wear is knee length. Bummer! It has a durable elastic waistband with a good bit of give, so you can wear it at your natural waist, higher, or really whichever way you like. So that wasn't the issue.
The length just didn't work on my long legs. For a girl who's shorter than me (I'm 5'8") it would be completely modest though...knee-length or longer.

As far as the craftsmanship of this skirt goes, it's flawless. I would definitely wear this skirt if it were a tad longer and maybe with a little more fabric to it in general, say, more of an A-line design with some flare at the bottom.

Now, the scarf I will be keeping. Who doesn't love black lace or just lace in general? What's more feminine than a nice lace scarf??

My pictures are pretty bad. So therefore I'm including a few from the Capurro Customs Etsy page.

Black Lace Knit Infinity Scarf

As you can see, this would work with just about any outfit on the face of the earth. Black goes with everything! And since this is entirely lace, it's lightweight and could be used as a spring/summer scarf indefinitely. I love it!

Overall, I have to give Capurro Customs a double thumbs up. And yes, that also means I give it my seal of approval! The quality is superb, and the aesthetics of the products captivating and delightful.

NOW. For the moment you've all been waiting for! At least, I hope you have...

We're having another giveaway!!

In this one, you can enter to win either the skirt from Capurro Customs (shown above) or a set of cuffs from Dazzling Adornments.

The skirt is a size medium/small roughly, with a 30-31 inch waist (can stretch to larger). Picture how cute it would be with some cowboy boots and black tights/leggings underneath!

The cuff jewelry you will be winning includes the pink ear cuff, the double lip ring, the triple ear cuff, the nose ring, and the copper ear cuff.

Ear Cuff Silver Heart Charm, 12 cuff colors available

Ear Cuff Copper

Two winners will be chosen - one will get the skirt, and one will get the cuff set!

Have fun and make sure to spread the word to your friends!

Have a blessed day!

Dabble Designs Owl Earrings {review}

Good afternoon ladies!

Aren't these earrings adorable? A month or so ago I was sent them to review from Katie at Dabble Designs.

They're 100% sterling silver, and quite small. The owl design is so intricate and darling!
I'm a major owl lover so naturally these earrings caught my attention. And they're itty-bitty, so if I wanted to just throw a subtle touch to my outfit they'd be perfect.

The perfect pair of unique mini studs! They're very easy to wear.
I see no cons to these earrings except that you might be able to lose the backs because they're just so tiny. But that could also happen with larger studs as well, so nothing can be helped there really. You just have to make sure you put this pair in a place in your jewelry box where they won't get tucked away and forgotten!

Overall, I like these earrings a lot. Personally I might prefer them a little bigger, if I were to design them, simply so you can see the owl better, but that's just me.  I'm the kind of girl who loves big hoops and long danglies. But studs have their occasion, and let's be honest, for practicality's sake you just can't go around scrubbing tubs and doing laundry in big clunky earrings!

So, these are quite perfect for everyday activities, or just about anything really.  Oh-so-cute! And silver matches with everything so it's a win/win there also.

Find Dabble Designs on Etsy, or visit the website here!
Also, why not like DD on Facebook?

Blessings,
Note: I was provided this item from Dabble Designs in exchange for my honest review.

Beautifly Natural Jewelry {review}

"I saw a chance to reuse butterflies that had naturally expired at a local conservatory and I approached the manager with my proposition of making jewelry out of the wings. I made a few sample products and then was asked to begin a business selling the newly made butterfly jewelry within the conservatory's gift shop. The natural jewelry was very well received and I was able to set up a studio.
I am very excited about the business that unexpectedly became a reality in my life. I am thankful for all the opportunities that have allowed me to come this far. But most importantly I am delighted to be able to share these beautiful creatures in a creative way that can be admired and enjoyed for years to come.
" -Bethany, shop owner, maker & designer

We have a very unique review today from Beautifly Natural Jewelry - a shop on Etsy that offers laminated butterfly wing earrings and nature-themed accessories!

I don't know about y'all, but I'm an avid lover of the great outdoors, fresh air and all the beautiful creatures which God has placed on this earth for us to enjoy and protect. Butterflies have always been fascinating insects to me, with their dainty, frail forms and intricate wing designs.

So the concept of getting to actually wear earrings made from real butterfly wings really intrigued me.

I was sent two different pairs to review. This first one is from a Sulphur butterfly. You can find/purchase them here.

The wings are about an inch or so long.

I love the bright yellows in this pair. So lovely and full of sunshine!

This second pair is my favorite. They're Paper Kite wings and roughly double the size of the Sulphurs above. I love this length, and translucent colors. Find these earrings here.

What I love about these earrings is how, when you run your fingers over the laminated material, you can actually feel the veins of the wings - this is the real deal.
Both pairs are so unique and original - naturally.

They're very, very lightweight so they won't drag your earlobes down at all. In fact, you almost forget you're wearing them.

Overall, I think this shop - and the products it offers - is awesome. I love how different and original the jewelry is. These are definitely earrings I will wear! I give both pairs a double thumbs-up, and that goes for the rest of Beautifly Natural Jewelry, too. Working with Bethany was a pleasure!

You should definitely check out her work. And like her Facebook page!

What do y'all think? Which is your favorite pair?

Note: I was provided these items from Beautifly Natural Jewelry in exchange for my honest opinion.

Here is a peek at what's going on at my blog right now.  If you would like to check it out you can come visit All Things Good.  I am really excited about this series, and I really want to encourage you all about how beautiful you really are!
Ever since I started this blog, God laid it on my heart to teach girls, teens, and women, how to be fashionable and beautiful yet god-honoring ladies while practicing the feminine art of saving money:).  I wanted to teach other women, girls, and teens, that God made all of them beautiful, it's just a question of whether or not they choose to show it and enhance what God has already given them.  Every female has unique features that make her her!
Are you ready to embark on your journey?  Well like every good journey needs we need a map!
We will be revisiting what true beauty looks like, especially in the eyes of God.  We will learn that beauty is not only about looks, but about the kind of person that displays it.  We will learn that we are all different, and that's OK.  I will teach you some things that are essentials for bringing out the unique beauty that God gave you, all of the do's and don'ts.  You will find out what kind of styles and makeups you like best (saving money while you do so;)).  But you can't just have beauty, you have to keep it up, so I will be offering you tips.  Not only tips for physical health but mental and spiritual as well.
At the end of our journey we will do some fun (and important!) things to help you remember all that you learned, and that you are beYOUtiful!

Things to bring on your journey...

  • A friend or two:)
  • A Bible
  • A notebook
  • A pen
  • An open mind and open heart
  • Your beYOUtiful self!;)
  • and of course...GOD!

Things to LEAVE BEHIND

  • Insecurities
  • Negative thoughts
  • Judgementalness
  • Scales and Sizes
  • Uncontentedness
  • A closed mind and a closed heart
  • And satan... Don't let the devil tell you lies!  Listen to God's truth!

I want you to pray this prayer before we start our journey-

Lord,
I know that when you created me, you made a masterpiece.  When You formed me before I was born I was your creation.  Every single part of my body and every single feature is there for a reason.
God, I'm sorry that sometimes I don't always treat your masterpiece with all the respect it deserves.  Ridiculing and criticizing your creation that You made with all the infinite love that only You can give.  I promise to try and take care of the body that you lent me before I come to live with you.
But Lord, give me the strength to fight satan's lies with your truth!  I know that you love me, but help me to love myself in the way You intended me to.  Please be with me on this journey and let me know that I am not alone.  All the praise and glory goes to You God!
Amen!

And don't forget, this is a journey we are taking TOGETHER!  I want to hear from YOU!  If you have a question, be sure to comment about it share your thoughts!  Be in touch with me!  I would love to hear from you!  Now girlfriend, let's begin our BeYOUtiful journey!!!

Sydney's Vintage {Product Review + Final Post}

It's been a while. Which is why I've decided to leave A Pinch of Classy. I've had an amazing time here, but I don't have the time or dedication to post every week like I should. After this (long overdue) product review, that'll be it for me.

Anyhow, let's get on with the post.

Unfortunately, I do not have pictures of this skirt. I wasn't able to take any (which is one reason why this post is so late, since it felt wrong not to take pictures of it). But it's a nice, solid green color, with white lace trimming just a few inches above the hem.

It is vintage, so the fabric is a bit rougher than I'm used to, but it doesn't make it uncomfortable at all.

Overall, it's lovely. The skirt is amazing. And the seller is a sweetheart. So many apologies to her for not getting this up sooner. But she was incredibly understanding and the picture of patience, and I thank her for that.

Anyways, this is my final post. It's been great. I wish I had the time to continue with this, but I just don't. I will be keeping up with this blog. Thanks, everyone!

Full Spectrum Apparel T-shirt {review & giveaway}

Hey y'all!
Today we have a review and GIVEAWAY from Full Spectrum Apparel! This unique shop offers eco-friendly, hand-drawn graphic t-shirts, tank tops and even children's attire.

I was sent a Freedom of Speech tshirt. When I first saw the typewriter design on the Etsy listing, I instantly fell in love. I'm a writer, and also a lover of old-fashioned things - I remember having a typewriter in the house years back as a little girl.

I thought the visual aesthetics of this shirt were superb. I simply love the vintage look of the typewriter and birds graphic. All graphics on clothing from this shop were original, hand-drawn designs. Isn't that cool? This designer is a pretty awesome artist!

There are many color options for this shirt, but I opted for the minty-green tinted "tri-lemon" color mix. My favorite color is turquoise/mint, so naturally that's the color scheme I will typical go for.

As far as how the fabric feels, it's very comfortable and lightweight. Two things that are very good for hot Florida weather! Also, the fabric is quite soft.

The women's sizes do run small, so if you were to order a shirt just keep that in mind and order a size or two up or check the size charts before ordering.

I give this shirt a thumbs-up! It's visually unique, the graphic is really striking and it's very comfortable to wear.
If you like this shirt, click here to see more color options and purchase a shirt for yourself if you like!
Customer service from this company is highly professional and accommodating.

Here are a few images of other items from FSA, that I thought were cute.

NOW! The moment you've all been waiting for - or, at least, you should have been!

Michael, the shop owner, offered to do a giveaway with APOC, and you can enter to win a t-shirt of your choice from Full Spectrum Apparel! Hurry - the giveaway closes this month on the 17th! Tell all your friends and get your entries in!

ALSO! If you decide to buy something, here's a coupon code you can use to get 15% off.

The Importance of Getting Enough Exercise

Today I was going to do a product review, but I think I'm going to just post that tomorrow because today I was out hiking with my family all day and never got to take any pictures for the review.

So, instead, here's an article I compiled on my personal blog last year that I thought you all would enjoy.

In this country, just about everyone already knows about the need for exercise.
But not everybody takes it seriously. And then, there are some people take it too far. Just like anything else, exercise should be a balanced activity. Enough to burn calories, strengthen your body and refresh your spirit, but not so much that you find yourself cringing in pain for the next week.

So, why exactly does the human body require exercise and movement?

  1. Aerobic exercises benefit the circulation of your blood through your heart and blood vessels -your cardiovascular system. Exercise makes the heart work harder, pump more blood, and it also reduces the risk of developing heart disease. With each beat of your heart, a surge of blood is pumped into your body's intricate web of blood vessels. The pressure exerted on your artery walls as blood passes through helps keep the blood flowing smoothly (what you know as ‘blood pressure'). A build-up of plaques in your arteries, caused by cholesterol in your bloodstream can affect your blood flow and cause serious damage to your cardiovascular system. A workout on a regular basis benefits your heart because it helps lower the build-up of plaques in arteries by increasing the concentration of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) cholesterol (the "good" cholesterol) and decreasing the concentration of low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol (the "bad" cholesterol) in your blood, while keeping the blood pressure at the optimal level.  As a result, your heart is able to do a better job in delivering oxygen to all parts of your body. Blood travels more efficiently, bringing much-needed oxygen from your lungs and nutrients to the rest of the body.  That's why you may noticed that you feel refreshed and energized after exercising. (Information source here)
  2. Exercise builds muscle and strengthens bones, as well as preserves bone mass, and increases bone density. Regular resistance training can help prevent the bone-weakening disease, osteoporosis.
  3. Exercise helps keep a healthy, balanced BMI (body mass index) and weight.  Once again, most people know this. It's a no-brainer if you're trying to lose weight. Calories burn the fastest and most effectively when the body is moving in some way or another, especially during vigorous exercises such as jogging, quick walking, biking, and peppy dancing.
  4. Exercise helps induce better, quality sleep. Many people who have problems sleeping find doing moderate exercise at least three hours before bedtime helps in sleeping better at night. The recent Hibernation Diet Theory teaches that regular exercise could activate production of recovery hormones during sleep and increases the body's metabolic rate.
  5. While the above reasons have given us enough incentive already to work out, there is yet another reason. Exercise also benefits the extremely essential lymphatic system. The lymphatic system is a vital network of vessels and nodes responsible for regulating fluids, distributing proteins and filtering out poisons in the fluid between the cells. It is a protector and a defence system against infection, viruses, harmful bacteria, and disease. The three most important methods of lymphatic circulation are external massage, muscle expansion and contraction, and intense exercise. This means the more you move, the livelier it becomes. When the lymph is not overloaded, health is maintained by the lymphatic system's natural detox design. But if the lymph is running sluggish and there is too much waste, a blockage in the lymphatic system happens, leading to symptoms like chronic fatigue, water retention, eczema, allergies, arthritis, and infections.

I Have a Confession...

So, I have a confession to make. I'm not perfect. Far from it, in fact. I'm totally not the best qualified to give anyone advice. But thankfully God doesn't call the qualified, He qualifies the called. In case you're wondering why I've brought this up, I want to tell you a little story.

When I was younger I always said I wasn't going to get involved with boys until I was ready for marriage. And I stuck by this... for the most part. You see, I thought it was okay to like boys, and talk about them. I'm not just talking about mentioning that a boy is cute, but I'm talking about seriously /liking/ them.

When I was younger I had this problem... maybe two times. And I think I might have been happier if I hadn't cared so much about liking boys. I'll just talk about one specific episode that happened a couple of years ago.

I had outgrown the "Oh he's so cute, I like him" stage, but somehow I was still liking guys. At least... one guy.

There was this guy. A lot of people probably wouldn't have guessed I liked him. Most didn't consider the handsomest or anything of that nature, but I really liked him because of his personality. He liked some of the same stuff I liked, and he was nice.

I went so far as to try to become his friend because I liked him. To me, friendship should be an honest desire for friendship, nothing more. But I liked him, so I tried to spend more time with him and have the opportunity to talk to him more.

I knew that I wouldn't be more than friends with him, because I had already decided to court, but I figured things would be fine anyway, since I heard he wanted to take that route as well.

But it was as I was trying to get closer to him in friendship that I realized something.

I was a third wheel. You know, when they talk about third wheels in movies and stuff... that person that's the odd one out. That was me. Somehow I was trying to ignore the fact that this guy was smitten with another girl. An older, sweet girl, who all the guys seemed to be smitten with.

It wasn't till later that I realized how silly I was being. You see, he was (and is) a nice guy. But I shouldn't have ever been thinking that way. For one thing, I have no idea who God has planned for him to marry, and there I was trying to needle my way in... for what? Things couldn't progress past friendship.

I've somehow gotten to the place, with the Lord's help, where liking guys is something I try not to consider anymore. When someone asks if I like someone, I say something along the fact of... "I'm not really into guys right now." Sometimes I explain my reasoning for avoiding the dating pool.

Does this mean I never think of a guy as being nice, or think he's nice looking? Of course not. It just means that I've solidified my desire to wait for that one guy... That special person that God designed specifically for me. And even though I know the road could be long and tiring, I know he's out there somewhere.

God is always faithful. So don't be discouraged. And maybe learn a little lesson from my experience in the matter... which isn't much. But remember that God has a plan for you, and it is more exciting than anything you could decide for yourself! (Update: This post is not meant to say you can't like guys. That was not my intent. But you can like guys /too/ much and that was the point I was trying to make. I didn't go too far in my liking of this fellow, but I think it could have, and I maybe shouldn't have even liked him as much as I did. Maybe I should have prayed for him instead.)
