Classy Vintage Look. {ClassyGarb}

Hello classy ladies! As you're probably aware, I didn't post last week because I decided to take a little blogging break. But I'm back now, with a new outfit post for you. Hope you enjoy!

I don't know how it is for you, but for some reason I feel like (as far as clothing goes) I belong in another century. I love, love, love vintage or old fashioned looking clothing. A couple weeks ago, we had Past, Present, and Future day at a rehearsal for the show I'm in, A Christmas Carol. I decided to go as someone from the past. My fifties outfit fell apart when I discovered my poodle skirt had a mysterious stain on it... So I scrounged around in my clothing and created a 20s-40s look. I told everyone I was seeking help for the war effort. :) I liked the look so much that I decided to wear it again at church, with a few changes. Below is an image from Past, Present, and Future Day. Then I'll share my changes.

And here's what I wore to church. As you can see the only significant change is the shoes and tights, though I also wore a white tank top instead of a brown one. The tank top wasn't really thought out, I kind of just wore what I had, though I like the look.

Up close... yeah my brother took a *very* attractive photo of me. (Sarcasm.) :P

Close up on the headish area... isn't the hate adorable? It kind of has a tweed look... those little specks are actually part of the hat, not dog hair. :P

And of course, the boots! Which I have featured in an outfit post before. But what can I say, I love them!

As you can see, I've restated my passion for the color brown and jackets as well. I have a completely different, adorable brown and peach outfit that I may share at a later time. Now, for where the pieces came from.

Dress: Liz Baker. This dress was given to me by a lady from our church. It's the perfect length for me, but needs some tailoring through the shoulders as it's a big big. That's why I wear jackets. As well as the fact that it adds to the outfit.

Jacket: Studio I. This jacket actually came from a set of dress and jacket, but while looking for something to complement the dress, it just seemed to fit. It was given to me.

Hat: d8y. Peebles. (Which is owned by the same company that owns Bealls.)

Boots: Easy Street. Peebles again.

Tights: Unsure of the brand, but they came from Wal-Mart. :)

And that's all. What do you think of the vintage look? Yay, or nay?

LittleMaids {review}

Hey, everyone! Today I'm doing a review of a girls pioneer dress with bonnet and white apron.

The shop I'm reviewing is called LittleMaids. They make many styles of modest old fashioned style clothing for women, girls and babies. The clothes they make are all beautiful. I was so excited when I opened up the box these items came in.

So I started taking them out of the box, and I just got more and more excited. Anyone who likes old fashioned clothes knows what this is like.

There was the bonnet.

And the apron.

And, of course, the dress!

She also added a devotional book called Steps to Christ to the box.

I assume she adds this to every order.

The apron was so perfect. My sister once tried to make me an apron for my birthday, because I love old fashioned clothes. It wasn't very sturdy, but I loved her for it, and this just reminded me of that.

See? Isn't it amazing?

And the bonnet also brought back memories. All the girls in my family once sewed a whole bunch of bonnets, just for fun. They didn't look as much like this bonnet, because it didn't have the larger part in the back, but I can't help remembering things like that.

Sorry, my picture didn't come out very well.

Now, the dress. This is my favorite part of the outfit, even if it doesn't remind me of anything.

The shoulders are so nice, how they have just a little poof there, and the buttons on the wrist.

They're so elegant, right?

Altogether this outfit was amazing, and I would suggest everyone should order from LittleMaids.

If you would like to order something, you can find it here. Thanks for reading! I hope you guys liked the post!

Praying for Your Future Husband {Part Two}

Alrighty, so here is part two of Praying for Your Future Husband. If you want to read another one of my long ramblings you can find the first part here. If not, then here's a little recap...

Several months back I began seriously praying for my future husband. I didn't pray for God to lead me to the right man (well, I do still pray that but its not what this post is about.). Instead my prayer become one specifically for my future husband. First, that God would help keep him physically, mentally, and spiritually pure. Second, that God would plant in his heart a desire to be a strong spiritual leader. And third, that he would rely on the Holy Word to guide his path. Since I've started praying daily for my future husband I've been lead through scripture to pray for more things. I've made a list of 10 prayers with scripture to share with you today.

1. A prayer that he will love and cherish me as Christ loves the church.
"Husbands love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it." ~Ephesians 5:25

2. A prayer that he will search out the treasures of the Word, and meditate and carry out the Lord's commandments.

"Blessed in the man that walketh not in the council of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night." ~Psalms 1:1-2

3. A prayer that he will be surrounded by friends with a mutual love for and desire to serve Christ.

"But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin." ~ I John 1:7
Alright, this one might require a little but of explanation. I myself have struggled with not having friends who wished to follow Christ until just recently. Those previous friendships affected me in a negative way. I found myself drifting away from God and closer to the world. Having brothers and sisters in Christ to 'walk' with is a huge blessing.

4. A prayer that he will be a man of prayer.
"I will therefor that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting" ~ 1 Timothy 2:8

"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit..." ~ Ephesians 6:18

5. A prayer that the Lord will protect his physical and spiritual purity.
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above what ye are able; but will with the temptation make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it." ~ 1 Corinthians 10:13

6. A prayer that he will be spiritually mature, a strong leader, and stand firm for the truths of God's Word.

"Finally bretheren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might. Put on the full armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, be against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places." ~ Ephesians 6:10-12

7. A prayer that he will have a genuine love for our Savior

"And Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind." ~Matthew 22:37

8. A prayer that the Lord will help prepare him to be a strong provider, husband, and leader.

"But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel." ~ 1 Timothy 5:8
"Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with might...." Ecclesiastes 9:10

9. A prayer that he will walk in humility, wisdom, and righteousness with the Lord.

"But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble."

"But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy. And the fruit of righteousness is sewn in peace of them that make peace." ~James 3:17

"But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts: and be ready always to give an answer to every man that asketh you a reason of the hope that is in you with meekness and fear: Having a good conscience; that, whereas they speak evil of you, as of evildoers, they may be ashamed that falsely accused your good conversation in Christ." ~ 1 Peter 3:15-16

"The fear of the Lord is the instruction of wisdom; and before honor is humility." ~ Proverbs 15:33

10. A prayer of salvation.

"Do not be unequally yolked with unbelievers. For what partnership has righteousness with lawlessness? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" ~ 2 Corinthians 6:14

As I said previously, praying for your future husband is a huge blessing. First, it brings you closer to Christ and I've found my prayer life has become stronger. If your desire is to honor, love, and serve Christ then he will bring you to the person who join you in those efforts. If you center that future relationship on Christ then later on He will be the center of that marriage and home. A relationship build on Jesus is one that will last. Start building that foundation now through prayer.

Secondly, in the past few months I've been given a peace of mind knowing God has set aside a special person for me. Through prayer he's become more than a figment of my imagination and dreams of the future. You're future husband is alive and real. He is out there in the world, living his life right at this very second. Is he saved? Is he struggling to serve Christ? We don't know. But we do know that the Lord hears our prayers.

One More Jewelry/Accessory Haul!

Hey ladies! Today I've got a bunch of neat product reviews for y'all.
First we have an ADORABLE necklace from Frida & Marilyn .

This necklace was created using recycled and vintage materials. I really like that factor.
It is really very much my style, the retro look. Plus, I appreciate resourcefulness.

This is a beautiful piece. I adore it. It's been a main accessory in my outfits lately ever since it arrived in the mail.

And, of course, the packaging was adorbs.

I haven't worn many loooong necklaces like this before, but this sort matches with most anything and as I said before I just loved it as soon as I laid eyes on it. It's so me!

It's so unique. Even the chain suspending the pendant is beautifully original.

Overall, I have NO complaints and I absolutely love Leyla's (the shop owner) work! You should definitely check out her shop.

Next up, another adorrrrable piece of jewelry - a pair of earrings from Miss Frosting.

First of all, the packaging! Once again, just too cute not to get a picture of.

I just love these earrings. To me they have a semi-retro look. Very classy and elegant. I love wearing them!

They're very lightweight and I forget I even have them on, sometimes!

The length is perfect. Not too long, but not too short either.

Overall, I give these earrings two thumbs up! They're super stylish and cute, and I've enjoyed wearing them all over the place. They're already a stable in my wardrobe!
(Go check out the Miss Frosting store right now!!)

And here we have a lovely hat from SavannahWillow.
I know the pictures aren't very good. But I still love wearing this hat nonetheless. I've always liked hats, anyway. Something about them is just so incredibly classy.

Hats can spruce up just about any outfit. It's a shame that many women don't wear them anymore like they used to.

Anyhow, I really like this hat. It's black, so it matches with everything, and black is inherently classy in my opinion, anyway.

(Excuse my goofy posing. I'm not very photogenic...haha.)
Anyhoo, Savannah Willow has a number of other vintage items similar to this hat. You should take a look!

Now. I  know this particular review is long-overdue, especially considering that I was sent this pair of boots several months ago.
They're from Bete Noire Vintage . I think they are simply adorable, but the problem? My feet are, as always, too big. >_<

I will give them to a friend with smaller feet. But it was disappointing because these are just so unique and I would certainly have worn them if I could've.

Well, that wraps up today'spost!
Hope all you lovely people enjoyed!

Blessings,
